The founder of Travel 2 Meet Sarah Wirtz was already as a child very much interested into travel, the tourism industry and especially for hotels. This enthusiasm steadily increased. After her education as a foreign language correspondent, the native „Sauerländerin“ (a region in Northrhine Westphalia, called Sauerland) studied „International Business Administration” at the University in Bochum, Germany and then successfully completed her „Master of Science in International Tourism Management“ in Manchester, UK. During her studies, Sarah went deeper into practice and gained experience in travel agencies and in famous international hotels.
After graduation, the now mother of two kids, worked for a leading online reservation system for hotel bookings. Here, Sarah supervised national and international hotels and hotel chains for the MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Congress, Event) area. She negotiated contracts with renowned hotels and worldwide hotel chains. Furthermore, Sarah used tourism fairs in Germany as well as in Europe and the USA to exchange, negotiate, discuss and network. Hence, she was able to get to know countless hotels and to build up a large network in the industry.
